CLARKESVILLE, GA - Helen Brown Dishner, formerly of Franklin, passed away at her residence on Sept. 18, 2022.

Helen was born in Scaly Mountain, to the late Olin and Edna Brown Dryman. She was a caregiver and always enjoyed taking care of others and she received that same loving care from her caregiver Brenda and the Amedisys hospice nurses.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband George Ray Dishner; sons, Kenneth Ray and Phillip Lee Dishner; brothers, Cecil and Wayne Dryman; and sisters; Mae Tucker and Mary Roper.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Renee Smagur (Richard); grandchildren, Amanda Scheese (Matthew), Richard “Trey” Smagur III, Jacob Smagur (Calesa Forbes), Sarah Bianchi (Chris), Zachary Smagur, Maggie Smagur, and Brook Broughton (Dillon) and seven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held Oct. 4, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., one hour prior to the service. Immediately after the service a social gathering of friends will be held at Macon Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Helen Dishner, at stjude.org. Helen loved children and always wanted to help them.
