TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – Frank W. DuMond, 80, passed peacefully at CentrePoint Health and Rehab on May 5, 2021, from an extended illness. He was born in Cornwell, New York to Howard J. DuMond and Emma C. O’Connor on Dec. 2, 1940. Frank and his dad Howard moved to Florida in the early 1950s. In 1953, Howard married Virginia L. Ferrel. 

Frank graduated from Leon High School in 1960.  Shortly after graduation, he began employment with Southeastern Telephone Company and remained with them until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors and provided lawn service for a number of years. He also served in the National Guard.

In his spare time, cars were his passion, along with FSU football, and his cats. After retirement, he split his time between Tallahassee and his home in Franklin, North Carolina where he enjoyed a community of friends. In 1992, Frank and Wandel Hall were married until her death in 1996.

He is preceded in death by his father; mother (Emma); infant sister; and grandparents. He is survived by Virginia L. DuMond (mother); his sisters, Linda A. DuMond and Holly D. Brewton (Greg); his niece, Allison L. Hitchcock (Joshua); and nephew Justin D. Brewton.

The memorial service was held on May 10, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home with a reception immediately following.
