DALLAS, GEORGIA _ Doyle Marion McCracken, 78, passed peacefully on Aug. 4 2021, in Kennestone Hospital Cancer Center.
Doyle is survived by his beloved wife, Bea Ann McCracken of Dallas, Georgia; his daughter, Shelley Hollingsworth, son-in-law, Shane Hollingsworth, and grandson, Brody Hollingsworth all of Powder Springs, Georgia; also, his sister, Roberta Wrigley, brother-in-law Craig Wrigley, and their two sons Jason and Todd Wrigley.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert McCracken and mother Bernice McCracken, both of Franklin.
Doyle was born on April 10, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, to parents Robert and Bernice McCracken. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1961. Following high school, he was a Marine Reservist and then had a 32-year career at Lockheed Martin in Marietta, Georgia, where he spent several years working in tool design.
Doyle was a great family man and loving father. He married Bea Ann Hurst in 1965. The couple had one child together, and later one adored grandson.
Doyle was a social, active man who was always willing to help others. He enjoyed sports, especially watching his grandson play baseball and basketball. Doyle was also an avid Braves fan. His family and friends will always remember him as a very hard-working, thoughtful person.
A memorial service was held, Monday, Aug. 9, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Southern Cremations and Funerals Chapel at Cheatham Hill.
