Dewey “Corky” Elliott Sr.

FRANKLIN - Dewey “Corky” Elliott Sr., 88, passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2019.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Wiley Elliott and Lillian Agnes Pannell Elliott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Estelleen Keener Elliott. 

Dewey was a U.S. Army veteran and served with the 82nd Airborne during the Korean War. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his children, Joy Rosser (Mike) of Franklin, Dewey “Corky” Elliott Jr. (Lynda) of Franklin, and Dewann Hamilton (Kevin) of Franklin; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Elliott of Inman, South Carolina; step-sister, Irene Cowan; step-brothers, Truman Elliott, McArthur Elliott and Corie Elliott; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 6 in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. The Revs. Richard Salmonson and David Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Corky Elliott Jr., Matthew Elliott, Ethan Elliott, Vane Gunter, Benny Hampton and Mike Pudelski.
