FRANKLIN – Danny Joe Teem, 65, died on Jan. 1, 2021 at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Danny passed away from COVID-19 complications with his family by his side. 

Danny was born in Macon County and was the son of the late George Teem and Mattie Pearl Teem.

Danny was a member of Sugarfork Baptist Church. He was a 1973 graduate of Franklin High School, where he enjoyed playing football. After graduation he worked as a telephone contractor for several years before being employed at Windstream Communications where he worked the last 35 years. Danny was a hard worker and in his spare time he enjoyed golfing, going to auctions, but mostly enjoyed visiting with his children and playing with his grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Teem; and two sisters, Shirley Taylor and Linda Riddle.

Survivors are Danny’s loving children, son, Zach (Jenn) Teem, and daughter, Tiffany (Alan) Tuttle; along with five sweet grandchildren, Hayven and Luke Teem, Bentley, Carter and Jaxson Tuttle, first wife and mother of his children, Dawn Teem, all of Winston-Salem. He is also survived by a brother, Ricky (Cecilia) Teem, and a sister, Lori Hood.

The family will be holding a private ceremony at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall and in Franklin.
