The Macon County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man wanted for the murder of his estranged wife.
Salomon Ramos Santos, 49, is accused of fatally shooting his wife in DeKalb County, Georgia, on July 11. The United States Marshal Service is offering a $2,500 reward for assistance in the capture of Ramos-Santos.
The suspect’s son told Fox 5 Atlanta, “He went in there, he grabbed a gun and he shot her with my baby in her hand. I was so worried about it…the worst happening…and he did it.” The son said his father had battled addiction and they had recently The Macon County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshal Service confirmed that Ramos-Santos fled to the Franklin area and rented a room at a local motel room, according to a July 13 press release. Law enforcement positively identified Ramos-Santos after reviewing video surveillance footage.
Sheriff Robert Holland said multiple individuals gave investigators statements that confirmed Santos was in the Franklin area last week and was attempting to find a way back to the Atlanta area or elsewhere.
Holland said Tuesday afternoon that they had received a report that Ramos-Santos was back in Georgia, but that he could return to Macon County because he knows people here.
Ramos-Santos is a Hispanic male that is about 5’8” and 180 pounds. He has skin tags around his left eye. He may have partially shaved.
“Salomon Ramos-Santos should be considered armed and dangerous,” Holland said.
Ramos-Santos was last seen armed with a 45-caliber handgun. The sheriff said anyone who sees or comes in contact with Santos should not approach him and call 911.
As of Tuesday morning, Ramos-Santos had not been arrested, according to the DeKalb County Police Department.
