The Town of Franklin, Macon County and the Franklin Chamber of Commerce teamed up to present a day full of festivities for the July Fourth holiday.
Macon County residents and visitors donned their patriotic outfits, decorated their cars and headed out to Main Street in Franklin for the Independence Day parade and celebration on Friday. The day started with the parade followed by the Little Miss and Mr. Firecracker contests.
Volunteers from the Town of Franklin passed out more than 600 slices of watermelon for people to enjoy after the parade, while Evan Harrell Realty One Group handed out free bottles of water to help festival-goers beat the heat. Iotla Street was lined with bouncy houses for children and food trucks.
Later that afternoon, the fun moved to the Rec Park with games, axe throwing, live music and fireworks.
