The graduating seniors from Franklin High School, Macon Early College and Bartram Academy donned their caps and gowns, boarded a convoy of school buses and were treated like celebrities as they arrived at schools throughout the county on April 30.
Younger students waved signs, cheered, clapped and offered high-fives during the annual Grad Walk. Teachers posed for photos with their former students with some sharing photos of the students from their younger school days.
Following grad walk the seniors enjoyed a picnic and games at Parker Meadows.

Senior Award Night
Due to construction at Franklin High School, Class Day and the Scholarship Awards night have been combined into one event: Senior Award Night at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 15 at the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts.
Graduation Schedule
• Macon Early College – Sunday, May 18, 3 p.m. at Discover Church.
• Bartram Academy – Friday, May 23, 6 p.m., Discover Church.
• Highlands School – Saturday, May 24, 10 a.m., Highlands New Gym.
• Franklin High School – Thursday, May 29, 7 p.m., Western Carolina’s Ramsey Center. The graduation ceremony is being moved to WCU due construction of the new FHS stadium.
• Nantahala School – Friday, May 30, 6 p.m., Nantahala Gym.
