FRANKLIN - Clarence Alexander Wilson Jr., 83, passed away on Dec. 4, 2022, at the Elizabeth Hospice House in Flat Rock. Born on July 5, 1939, in Midway to the late Minnie Lee Long and Clarence Alexander Wilson Sr. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Helmstetler, and daughter-in-law, Laurel Wilson.

He grew up working in the family business and owned and operated family businesses most of his life. These included Wilson Furniture in Midway and Wilson Crafts in Franklin. He was a member of First Alliance Church in Franklin and an active leader within his churches until his health declined. He was a kind and generous neighbor to all and dearly loved and supported his family. His family loved and supported him in return.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 66 years, Frances Clinard Wilson; daughter, Denise Wilson Andrews (Mark) of Belmont; sons, Clarence Alexander Wilson III (Janene) of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, and Marty Alan Wilson (Estel) of Alpharetta, Georgia. He was a fun-loving PawPaw to Clarence Alexander Wilson IV (Alana) of Asheville, Courtney Andrews Clapp (Phillip) of Winston-Salem, Russell Wilson (Emily) of Columbus, Keith Wilson (Amy) of Angier, Caleb Wilson (Summer) of Hendersonville, Wilson Andrews (Carol) of Brooklyn, New York, Bethany Wilson McCall (Cory) of Franklin, Chris Wilson (Tamra) of Hendersonville, Levi Wilson (Taylor) of Franklin and Leighton Ward of Greer, South Carolina; and 24 precious great-grandchildren.

A family celebration of life will be held in the new year with Rev. Mark Andrews and Rev. Keith Wilson officiating. Burial of his remains will take place in Davidson County, Midway.
