Franklin’s resident pool shark has earned a memorable win. On the weekend of June 26, recent Franklin High School graduate Gage Smith traveled to Jacksonville, Florida, for the Junior International Championships, battling some of the nation’s top youth players. There he earned gold in the Boys 20U Nine-Ball Tournament, and is pictured with his first-place medal. Smith dedicated the win to his former billiards mentor and Macon County native Matty Ledford, who passed away the day before the final.
