When she was just a teenager in 1956, she met Navy signalman Sanford E. Peek (Sam), the man with whom she would build a life and family. After years of traveling with the Navy and adding four children to their fold, they eventually made their permanent home in Summerville, South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Stephen Wilson; and her son-in-law, Raymond Clemmons.

Vickie was a generous, dedicated individual who was passionate about her family. She was her children’s and grandchildren’s biggest champion. Vickie worked in civil service for many years before retiring.

She enjoyed various creative pursuits throughout her lifetime, including painting, playing the piano, cooking and writing about her life. In the warmer months, she enjoyed spending time with Sam at their mountain home in Franklin. Vickie was an incredibly resilient person who persevered through every challenge and trial put in her path. She will be greatly missed by the many people who loved her.
