FLORIDA – Shirley Rinker Blanton, 84, of Sarasota, Florida, died on April 22, 2020.
Born in Muncie, Indiana on Sept. 7, 1935, she was an elementary school teacher for 32 years. She was married to her loving husband, Bob, for 60 years.
Survivors are her husband Bob Blanton (Sarasota, FL), sister Jeanne Chilton (Dunedin, FL), Blanton cousins in the Franklin area, children Jeff Blanton (Prescott, AZ) and Jennie Blanton Peluso (Round Rock, TX) and 4 grandchildren - Diego, Bobby, Bart and Suzie.
Bob and Shirley Blanton were summer/fall residents of Franklin from 2004 to 2017 and sang weekly in the choir at First United Methodist Church and attended many festivals in the area.
A memorial service will be held in Florida later this summer.
