FRANKLIN – Robin McClure Henry Jennings was born in Hollywood, Florida in August 1946, and eventually was the owner of “Robin’s Roost,” a successful antique store on Antique Row in Davie, Florida. In 1979, she moved to Franklin, where she and her sister and brother-in-law bought and renovated Mountain Brook Resort on Cowee Mountain.

In the late 1980s her interest in real estate peaked, and she and her husband, Tom Henry, opened Prudential McClure Henry Real Estate office in Franklin. Several years after her husband “Tommie” Henry’s death, she married a long-time family friend, Morgan Jennings, and together, they owned and managed several rentals. Throughout her real estate career, Robin earned many awards for sales volume and had certifications in both residential and commercial real estate. She was also a licensed appraiser and was an expert witness for real estate law. Eventually, her innate ability to find “old relics” at bargain stores and yard sales renewed her interest in antiques, and she opened Antiques on Main in Franklin.

After years of success, she and Morgan retired from their business to enjoy life. During the next few years, they spent time gardening, reading, cooking, and traveling. They also enjoyed spending time at their home on Lake Chatuge and cruising in their 1968 Corvette. Robin passed away in Franklin on Nov. 29, 2020.

Apart from her accomplishments, Robin will be remembered most for her fierce ambition, unwavering loyalty and quick wit. Her love for her family and friends took precedence in her life and could be seen through her countless handwritten notes and thoughtful gestures. She had a plethora of knowledge in all things and enjoyed spreading that knowledge to anyone interested. Her family has so many memories of playing cards, filling out crosswords and exchanging stories that they will hold close to their hearts for years to come. Despite her passing, Robin’s spirit lives on and will never stop inspiring her family and friends.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Morgan Jennings; step-son David Jennings (Maria), step-son Eric Jennings (Elizabeth)and eldest sister Michele McMahon (Gus, deceased) of Robbinsville; niece, Addison Martin (Garrett) with grand-niece MacKenzie of Asheville; and niece Maquelle McMahon (Robbinsville). Also surviving are her youngest sister, Pamela (Gary) Setser, and step-son Justin Setser (Kara) and their daughter Andi (Franklin). Step-granddaughters, Nicole Buchanan (Justin) of Clayton, Georgia, Allie La Madrid of St. Simons Island, Ashley Jennings of St. Simons Island, and step-grandson, Arlo Jennings of St. Augustine also survive.

A private gathering will be planned in Robin’s honor, and in place of flowers, the family would suggest donations in her name made to Hospice House Foundation, 272 Maple St., Franklin, NC 28734.
