Margaret Tallent Queen
FRANKLIN - Margaret Tallent Queen, 80, of Franklin passed away Monday, April 8, 2019.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Tallent and Kate Raby Tallent. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Queen; brothers, Charles Tallent and George Tallent; and sisters, Dorothy Clampitt, Kathryn Cook and Sarah Henry and great-granddaughter, Lyla Reese Maxson.
Margaret was a member of Iotla Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, watching wildlife from her porch and listening to gospel music. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Ricky Queen, Rhonda Queen (Todd), and Donna Mathis (Buddy) all of Franklin; sister, June Carpenter (Doug) of Marion, brother, Don Tallent (Denise) of Laurens, South Carolina; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 11 in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. The Revs. Brandon Breedlove, Steve Reeves and Doug Carpenter officiated. Burial was in the Burningtown Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends Wednesday, April 10 at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jamey Mathis, Cody Mathis, David Pangle, Todd Bennett, Mike Fouts and Jim Fouts.
