Edna Marie “Granny” Holland

FRANKLIN - Edna Marie “Granny” Holland, 85, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2019 in the comfort of her daughter’s home in Moreland, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Lenoir and Lucinda Corinne Huckaby Lenoir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hayes Abraham Holland; granddaughter, Lindsey Marie Howett; and all of her 11 siblings. 

Granny loved baking her favorite sweet treats, socializing with friends and family, fishing and whooping up on her dearest in card games. She had a wonderful smile that would light up a room.

She is survived by her children, Wanda Richey of Greenwood, South Carolina, Ramona Barreto (Ronald) of Moreland, Georgia, Karen Howett (Doug) of Brooks, Georgia, and Becky Hope (John) of Franklin; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Sunday, Aug. 11 in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Moffitt officiated. Burial was in Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family received friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.

Marie’s nephews served as pallbearers.
