Conway W. Henderson

FRANKLIN - To honor the memory of Conway W. Henderson (1942-2019), a celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at Union United Methodist Church in Franklin.

Conway, son of the late Lester C. and Adeline Teague Henderson, was a native of Macon County, where he enjoyed all the benefits of a country life. 

He graduated from Franklin High School, then earned degrees from Wake Forest University and the University of Iowa. Following these milestones, he began a successful teaching career at the University of South Carolina, Upstate. He retired after 30 years of dedication to the university and to the students.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Carol Elizabeth Henderson; and his step-daughter, Edie Anne Brown. Also surviving are his sisters, Jo Ann Henderson and Linda Morrow; his grandchildren, Morgan, MacKenzie, Matthew, Justin and Anna; a special niece, Amy Wiggins; a special nephew, Phil Henderson; and many more nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Conway was preceded in death by his brothers, Max T. Henderson and Charles L. Henderson. 

A visitation will be held at the church following the service.
