At the time of his death, he was the oldest volunteer fireman in North Carolina. Bob was particularly proud of his work on the Veterans Memorial Park of Macon County. He enjoyed playing music throughout his life, and a mandolin often accompanied him on his various adventures.

He is survived by his son, Joe Litten (Janice) of Orinda, California; and grandchildren, Jefferson Litten of Santa Barbara, California, and Jamison Litten of San Francisco.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25th at American Legion Post 108.
