Anita Louise Wiberg Norton
Franklin - Anita Louise Wiberg Norton, 71, of Franklin passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017. Anita was born in Sydney, Australia, the daughter of the late Erik Wiberg of Sweden and Marjorie Watts Wiberg of Australia.
Mrs. Norton was a successful business woman. She was an agent in the real estate business and was one of the original cashiers at the first Ingles Store in Franklin. She also owned a children’s clothing store and a restaurant. She was very artistic and talented and enjoyed painting, needlepoint, stained glass and photography. Anita fought a good fight against multiple sclerosis for 26 years.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Richard “Rick” Norton; one son, Darryn Norton (Kerryanne) of Greenville, South Carolina, and a sister, Linnea Wiberg MacKay of Sydney, Australia.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Guy Duvall officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jim Williams, Tom England, Tiger O’ Rourke, Andrew Norton, Ryan Norton, and Tim O’ Rourke. Honorary pallbearers will be the VVA Chapter 994 members in attendance. Memorial donations may be made to MS Society North Carolina Chapter, 9801 Southern Pine Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28273.
