Andrew Thomas “Andy” Lane
KENNESAW, GEORGIA - Andrew Thomas “Andy” Lane, 51, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017.
Born in Haywood County, he was the son of Grace Erwin Lane and the late William “Tom” Lane.
Andy was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a member of the American Legion of Kennesaw. He was site inspector for NOVA Engineering. He was an expert marksman and loved going to the firing range. Andy enjoyed fishing and camping and never met a stranger.
In addition to his mother, Grace, he is survived by a sister, Carol Justice of Franklin; two brothers, Jim Lane and Phillip Lane (Lori) both of Franklin; nieces and nephews, Trevor Justice, Laney Grace Justice, Dylon Tucker, and Lacey Tucker (Adam Karpisek); great niece, Elissia Lane Karpisek; aunts and uncles, Paul Erwin (Peggy) of Canton, Peggy Erwin of Canton, Max Price of Black Mountain, and Bernice “Bing” Lane of Leicester; and several first cousins.
A memorial service was held Monday, Aug. 7, in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. The Revs. Vic Greene, Janet Greene and Kelly Dotson officiated. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108 conducted military rites.
The family received friends prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
