MURPHY – John E. Sim, 95, formerly of Franklin, passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 at his residence. He was born March 2, 1925 to John Joseph Sim and Ann Campbell Smith in Detroit, Michigan. John served in the U.S. Army in World War II, serving in Hawaii. John worked 35 years in Finance for Chrysler Corporation. John was married to Ruth Pilon Sim on Jan. 16, 1948 and married to Dorothy Burgess Sim on June 25, 1965. There were four children born of the marriages, Cheryl Ann, 12-13-52, John Joseph, 07-19-55, David Russell, 04-07-66 and Robert Matthew on 02-06-68. My beloved Dorothy loved them all as her own. John and Dorothy were both active in Coweeta Baptist Church beginning in 1981 and continued until the Lord called them home. 

John was preceeded in death by his brothers, Alexander and Wilson, and sister Jean. 

Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl Scullen and Jack; sons John J. Sim and Chris of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, David Sim of Greenville, South Carolina and Robert Sim of Murphy; three grandchildren, Laura Phelan and Andy; Andrew Sim and Kristina, and Connor Sim; three great-grandchildren, Kayden Sim, and Bella and Ryan Mague. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
