FRANKLIN – Jimmie B. White, 86, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021 following a lengthy battle with a rare incurable cancer. He was born in Bristow, Oklahoma and moved to Tahlequah Oklahoma to pursue a career in the field of education. He retired in Tahlequah as the Principal at Greenwood Elementary School. He spent a few years in Florida before moving permanently to Franklin in 2006. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Burl and Paulene White, and son Kelly at the age of 13. He is survived by his wife Jean of 30 years; sons Jeffrey White and wife Laura and J.D. White, both of Tahlequah Oklahoma. A sister, Anita White Zwick of Cape Coral Florida; a brother, Ron and his wife Madeleine who split their time between Franklin and N. Ft. Myers, Florida. He has many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Stepchildren of over 30 years; Darin McDaniel and wife Kelly of Oklahoma City; Michael McDaniel and wife Debbra of Joplin, Missouri and Tracey Vaughn and her daughter Madison Scrabeck of St. Petersburg, Florida. He was loved by all of them as a dear father figure and mentor. 

He made many friends in Franklin participating in the Macon County Senior Games where he entered most every year in golf, tennis and bowling before becoming ill. He also produced beautiful carpentry pieces for many of his friends. 

A memorial service will be held in Tahlequah once the COVID virus is contained. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Four Seasons Hospice of Macon County.
