FRANKLIN - On Jan. 30, 1970, Dawn Marie Kimmey was born in Troy, New York, to Linda Rhoden and Bart Edward Kimmey. Dawn was loving, independent, and liked to socialize, but if only one word could be used to describe Dawn, it would have to be “caring.”

Dawn was just fun to be with as her many friends would agree, and throughout the years she maintained close relationships with both friends and family. She enjoyed traveling, and because she was a fan of the low country and seafood, Savannah, Georgia, was one of her favorite destinations.

A registered nurse, Dawn’s passion for helping others led her to work in Butner, for the State of North Carolina, with those suffering from addiction. She also served as a travel nurse for eight years, crisscrossing the country twice. Dawn was dedicated and took pride in staying up to date with knowledge and advancements in the world of medicine. Dawn was a Christian who enjoyed listening to contemporary Christian music. She liked plants and dearly loved her Bichon pup, Bichie.

Dawn passed from this life on Jan. 31, 2022. Surviving Dawn are her parents; sister, Tara Kimmey; nieces, Samantha Washington and Savannah Washington; nephew, Robert Washington; great-niece, Neveah Sneed; and her dearest friend, Cheyenne Foster.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 11, at Discover Church in Franklin. Pastor Ben Windle will lead the celebration.

Memorial contributions may be made to any local animal shelter, or the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, 375 Kings Highway North, Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08034.
