FRANKIN - Arthur “Art” McLellan, 79, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Arthur and Grace McLellan.
Art is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara McLellan; sister, Geraldine Kaptur of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; granddaughters, Sarah Shillingford of Kissimmee, Florida, and Haley Elizabeth Ostrander of Saint Augustine, Florida; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Art is preceded in death by his brother, William McLellan, and daughter, Tammy McLellan.
Art worked for 18 years with the city of Fort Lauderdale Florida Police Department from patrol to detective. He then worked for 12 years as an investigator with the state attorney’s office in the 20th Judicial Circuit in Fort Myers, Florida.
He was a member of the WNC Macon Jackson County Lodge F.O.P. #081, the Junaluska 0145 Mason, the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, and the Smoky Mountains Shrine Club.
