FRANKLIN - Annie Evelyn “Georgia” Zachary, 91, of West Columbia, West Virginia, formerly of Manassas, Virginia, passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, West Virginia.

She was born Nov. 22, 1930, in Franklin and was the daughter of the late Fred and Parilee Carpenter Nichols.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband of 35 years, Lloyd Zachary; sisters, Birdie, Rosalee and Eleanor (Nichols) Lewis; and brothers, Fred Nichols Jr. and Allen Nichols.

Annie was a homemaker and a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved gardening, listening to gospel and country music, reading, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need.

She is survived by her sister, Belva (Nichols) Edwards; daughters, Katherine Van Meter (Harry) and Melissa Driver (Steve); son, Marvin Zachary (Tanya); grandchildren, Amy (Van Meter) Adams, Joshua Van Meter, Adam Zachary and Kyle Zachary; great-grandchildren, Britlyn Van Meter, Blake Adams, Taylor Adams, Peyton Zachary, Avery Zachary and Harper Jolene Zachary.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 3 at Maiden’s Chapel, Franklin. Annie will be laid to rest beside her husband in Highlands Memorial Park.
