FRANKLIN - Lois Ann nee Wahlstedt Sexton, passed away on Dec. 19, 2021. She was born on June 10, 1935, to Gabriel and Anna Wahlstedt.

She was preceded in death by husband, John W. Sexton, and daughter Sandra Lee Hopkins. She is survived by sons, John and James Sexton; grandsons, Jerry Watson and Ryan Morgan; granddaughter, Bethany Sexton; great-grandchildren, Cayden Simm and Kylee Carpenter; brother, Robert (Bob and Aileen) Wahlstedt of Roseville, Minnesota; nephews, Bob G. Wahlstedt (Lesley) and David A. Wahlstedt (Gretchen); niece, Anne Marie Zielske (Jonathan); and several grandnieces and nephews.

In her adult years, Lois developed a passion for the education of young children. She earned a master’s degree in early childhood development and served with distinction as director of the Macon County Head Start Program during its development and the construction of the current facility in Franklin.

There will be a private memorial service for Lois and Sandra for family and close friends in Franklin on April 7. Memorials may be sent to Macon County Head Start or the donor’s choice.
