JV gets win at Tuscola Cody Brabson and Lance Rehkopf combined for a six-hitter, as the Franklin junior varsity team improved to 3-3 on the season last week. The Franklin pitchers combined for six strikeouts, as the Panthers topped Tuscola 5-3. Micah Jones laid down a squeeze bunt in the fifth inning, allowing the Panthers to score the go-ahead run. Franklin added an unearned run in the seventh for the two -run lead. "The Panthers showed a lot of heart in this one," coach Ken Neitz said. JD Stanfield knocked out three hits, including two doubles. Landon Grant Frankie Carapazza and Wyatt Gibson had two hits apiece. In previous action, Franklin lost 11-4 to T.C. Roberson and Erwin. Jones and Ben Carrion each had two hits against the Rams, combining for three RBI. Rehkopf allowed two earned runs in four innings against Erwin, but errors were costly.
